The water drop G2 series has two filter cartridges that provide 5 stages of filtration. The first filter is the WD-G2CF composite pre-sediment and carbon filter. This filter removes dust, rust, and other non-dissolved particles. The carbon filter removes smells, tastes and chlorine.
The second filter is the WD-G2P6MRO which is the multi-stage reverse osmosis filter. This filter uses multiple stages to.

The Waterdrop G3 uses 3 separate filters that give 7 stages of filtration. In the G3 there is the WD-G3-N1CF, the WD-G3-N2RO (WD-G3P800-N2RO in the G3P800) and WD-G3-N3CB
The first filter is the WD-G3-N1CF which is similar to the G2 setup, but it has a double cotton filter with an activated carbon block filter sandwiched between them. It removes, solids, odors, and bad tastes from the water.
Unlike the G2 filters, the G3 models use a larger dedicated RO filter cartridge (WD-G3-N2RO), that will last 2 years with regular use.
